During the early weeks of February, students from Greene County elementary, intermediate, and middle Schools “jumped all over heart disease and stroke” by participating in the annual Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart fundraiser.
Volunteer students from second through eighth grades participated in this year’s event, raising $15,552 for the American Heart Association. Funds raised for JRFH/HFH help fight heart disease and stroke and contribute to research.

“This year’s event was again a tremendous success. The students did a fantastic job raising the amount we did, which is our highest total ever,” said elementary phys ed teacher and JRFH/HFH coordinator. “We are very proud of these students as they have found a worthwhile cause and have worked so hard to support it.”
She thanked the parents, schools and the surrounding communities who have helped and donated towards the American Heart Association.
Phys ed teachers Sean Thompson and Ryan Eberly also helped organize the event.
